Knuffelmakers isn't just a business; it's a movement built around love. We create custom plush keepsakes—tangible, cuddly symbols of love and togetherness in a world that often feels too digital and divided.

Our unique concept has gone completely viral, with unboxing videos blowing up on Instagram and TikTok. The Founders' mission is clear: we’ve proven the concept, now we need to spread that love globally.

We're looking for an early leader to join our founding team and build the company that makes this global movement happen. Be an owner, not just an employee.

The Gig: What You'll Own

We need someone sharp, savvy, and hands-on to turn our creative chaos into a smooth, scalable machine. This is where you roll up your sleeves and become the Operational Architect of Knuffelmakers.

You will:

  • Build the Blueprint: Deep-dive into our entire process (from that first order click to the final cozy delivery) and redesign it to handle 10x the volume—no more duct tape solutions!

  • Be the Tech Brain: Evaluate, pick, and implement the core technology (like an awesome ERP/CRM) that will link our Studio, inventory, and global shippers. We need a system that works.

  • Lead the Crew: Manage and grow the operations team. You’re a people person who motivates the team and makes sure our craftsmanship stays top-notch, even at scale.

  • Drive the Vision: Work directly with the Founders. You'll take our big dreams and turn them into clear, measurable execution plans—no corporate BS, just action.

Who We're Looking For (Your Vibe Check)

Forget the corporate ladder—we need someone with the smarts and the heart for this mission.

  • You have a BIG heart. Seriously. You genuinely care about spreading connection.

  • You're obsessed with efficiency and use tech to solve problems, not create them.

  • You're a doer. You've got relevant operations/logistics experience (e-commerce bonus points!) and the ambition to lead a team.

  • You communicate brilliantly in English and preferably also in Dutch.

  • You're based near our Haarlem Studio/Randstad area.

Vondel is hiring MD / Head of BD Asia in Singapore, BKK, HK, SH

Vondel is expanding in Asia and therefor we are looking for a hands-on Managing Director or Head of Business Development Asia in Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai. Expected OTE €150-250K.

Someone that wants to work together with Maurits Stuyver and the Vondel team to establish a strong position in one of the most promising regions of the world, using our business model.

The last years we have been building Vondel into a full-service venture growth boutique and platform. With success. We now offer commercial, headhunting and capital solutions to tech scaleups, talent and investors. And have been fortunate to work with 50+ companies, commercially with fintechs like Adyen, platform scaleups like Qogita, ecom scaleups, several SaaS and AI players, and we did many placements with our recruitment arm. Also we connected VCs and startups with investors.

We have a strong European base in Amsterdam, but have recently been growing our team and partner base across markets, from Latin America to Asia. We are a “lean and mean” team and will continue to grow this team across relevant regions and functions; more exciting updates coming soon;).

The coming weeks Maurits will spend time in Bangkok and Singapore to grow our local network and speak with potential partners and candidates. Earlier this year we also have spend time in Manila, Indonesia and across China.

What do we look for in a Managing Director, Head of Business Development Asia:
- Ex-operator, Rocket Internet type of professional hustler, builder, connector, entrepreneurial
- Commercially strong, super hands-on, a real hunter, trustworthy, confident, real.
- Experienced in recruitment and building sales and leadership teams, always connecting with people.
- Living and working in Asia already for several years and not planning to leave any time soon.
- Network in SaaS, fintech, platform, marketplace, AI.
- Preferably living in Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, (would consider Bali as well).
- Dutch, German, Nordic, British, would be preferred due to cultural and business connection. But open for others.
- Compensation flexible depending on setup, but expect €150-250K, uncapped. No cure no pay from start, or small fixed component. Big commission.
- Can be done part-time at first, full-time later.
- License, Franchise or Equity partnership or revenue share model TBD.

What can you expect to do:
- You build, maintain and activate your network for our commercial, headhunting and capital solutions.
- You sign commercial partnerships with clients and open C-level doors for them, do active sales yourself, from SMB to Enterprise.
- You will do 360 recruitment yourself, business development, sourcing, placement of candidates; are able to start of alone, and soon will work with help of others in a local and international team.
- You further expand your network of investors in the region, connecting them to capital placement and funding opportunities in Asia, but also connecting them into the rest of our global network.
- You will build a core hybrid/remote team (and setup an office if required).
- You represent the Vondel brand in Asia.
- Travel across the region and once in a while to Europe or the Americas is expected .
- You will have a super interesting job, a lot of fun growing your network, closing business and candidate placement deals and analyzing and going after new opportunities.
- You will help Vondel role out new Vondel services or proprietary software in the near future.
