Business Operations (BizOps) – Job Description | Adtech | Amsterdam
Role summary
We’re looking for a hands-on Business Operations (BizOps) Manager to design, improve, and scale how our company operates across all departments.
This role owns problems end-to-end—from diagnosing inefficiencies to implementing solutions and ensuring adoption.
You will work directly with leadership and teams to turn unclear, inconsistent workflows into simple, scalable systems.
What you’ll actually do
1. Diagnose operational gaps
Analyze how teams currently work (Sales, Product, Engineering, Support, etc.)
Identify:
Bottlenecks
Redundant work
Lack of ownership
Missing processes
Turn ambiguity into clearly defined problems
2. Design and implement processes
Create practical, lightweight processes (not bureaucracy)
Build:
SOPs
Playbooks
Workflows
Ensure processes are:
Easy to follow
Actually used (not just documented)
3. Own execution (not just design)
Drive implementation across teams
Align stakeholders and push changes through
Remove friction during rollout
Ensure processes are adopted and followed
This is not a “strategy-only” role—execution is core.
4. Improve existing systems
Audit current tools and workflows
Optimize:
CRM / pipeline flows
Project management processes
Internal communication
Introduce automation where it reduces manual work
5. Define and track key metrics
Establish clear KPIs across teams
Build simple reporting (dashboards, weekly metrics)
Ensure leadership has visibility into performance
6. Enable cross-team alignment
Fix broken handoffs between teams
Clarify roles and responsibilities
Reduce miscommunication and duplication
7. Continuous improvement
Regularly review processes and refine them
Build feedback loops with teams
Ensure systems scale as the company grows
What we’re looking for
Must-have
Strong problem-solving ability (can break down messy situations)
Proven experience in operations, consulting, or similar roles
Ability to move from analysis → execution quickly
Comfortable working across multiple teams and functions
High ownership mindset (doesn’t wait for direction)
Critical traits (non-negotiable)
Hands-on: willing to do the work, not just advise
Pragmatic: avoids over-engineering
Influential: can drive change without formal authority
Structured thinker: brings clarity where there is none
Nice-to-have
Experience in startups or fast-growing companies
Familiarity with tools like:
Notion / Confluence
Jira / Asana
HubSpot / Salesforce
Experience with process frameworks (Lean, etc.)
What this role is NOT
Not a project manager tracking tasks
Not a pure strategist making slides
Not a “process police” creating bureaucracy
